Every year, Norwich skiers and riders from throughout the country have the chance to get together for full days of skiing, socializing and fun. NORTHFIELD, Vt. – Norwich University’s 2015-16 Writers Series will bring acclaimed memoirist Jessica Hendry Nelson and short story writer Gary Lee Miller to campus for a double bill reading on Monday, Oct. 12, at 4:30 p.m. in Kreitzberg Library’s Multipurpose Room.

Nelson and Miller were both finalists for the inaugural Vermont Book Award. The event is free and open to the public. Click here for the full article.

Norwich University names new digital forensics professor and director of computing center
NORTHFIELD, Vt. – Norwich University has named Huw Read, PhD, Associate Professor and Director of the Norwich University Center for Advanced Computing and Digital Forensics, beginning fall 2015.

Read began his academic career as a research assistant in 2004 working on improving tools for digital forensics. After obtaining his Ph.D. in 2009 from the University of Glamorgan (now University of South Wales), Read went on to become a lecturer, later a senior lecturer and course leader specializing in computer forensics at the University of Glamorgan in the United Kingdom. NORTHFIELD, Vt. – Norwich University Applied Research Institutes (NUARI) tested its cyber gaming software yesterday with over 500 participants from over 80 financial institutions and government organizations in one of the largest financial sector cybersecurity exercises, called Quantum Dawn 3. Quantum Dawn 3 was organized by the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA). Smithsonian Under Secretary and author Richard Kurin to speak at Norwich University
NORTHFIELD, Vt. – Norwich University will host distinguished cultural anthropologist and author Richard Kurin, the Smithsonian Institution’s Under Secretary for History, Art, and Culture for a presentation and book signing on Friday, October 2, at 1:00 p.m. in Dole Auditorium.

Norwich adds two programs to online bachelor’s degree completion offerings
NORTHFIELD, Vt. – Working adults looking to finish their undergraduate college degree now have two new programs to choose from through Norwich University’s online programs.

CGCS now offers five online bachelor’s degree completion programs: criminal justice, cyber security, interdisciplinary studies, management studies, and strategic studies and defense analysis. The programs are tailored to serve working adults looking to advance or transition their career. Click here for the full article.
