Taipei Personalities Cadets Hung Ching-Hao and Liao Tzu-Chuan are modest types, even though both young men have plenty to brag about. Hung, a 22-year-old senior majoring in communications, and Liao, a 21-year-old junior studying biology, are members of the cadre, upperclassmen who mentor younger cadets. Each maintains a GPA well above 3.3 - an impressive feat for any Norwich student, let alone those learning in a language they could barely speak before arriving on campus. Hazing allegations prompt media attention Recent allegations of hazing at Norwich have drawn attention from the media. A postage stamp cost eight cents, Richard Nixon had just resigned the presidency and, in the hills of Northfield, Vt., a handful of women arrived on the campus of Norwich University to make history. Wild Blue Yonder: Norwich grad joins Blue Angels When Maj. Chris Collins '97 was a sophomore at Norwich, he went to see an air show in nearby Burlington. He was so impressed by the Blue Angels, he decided then and there he wanted to be a member. After talking with a recruiter at the show, he decided to commission into the Marines upon graduation. After years of service that include two tours of duty in Iraq, he is living his dream. Collins has been named a member of the 2009 Blue Angels squadron. Continued at www.norwich.edu... |
African Peace Corps posting opened eyes of Norwich grad Ron Holbrook, a 2005 graduate of Norwich University, can't get used to anonymity. For two years his blond hair and blue eyes turned heads and drew crowds everywhere he went. Holbrook was a Peace Corps volunteer in Malawi, Africa, where kids gleefully called out "Chuck Norris!" when he walked down the street. Continued at www.norwich.edu... |
