Hitting the River
Intense Lessons on Life, Geology, and the Ecology of the Connecticut River Valley

Normally, class does not begin with catching professors when they've just stepped out of the tub. But this is not a normal class. And the "tub" from which geology Professor Richard Dunn has just emerged is actually a canoe on the Connecticut River, which is frigid and frothing here by a railroad-repair yard and freshly tilled cornfield in North Stratford, N.H.

No, this is not a normal class. It's Ecology and Geology of the Connecticut River Valley, an intensive, hands-on immersion in science that packs a semester's worth of field study into two weeks in late May.  Continued at www.norwich.edu...
Close to home: reexamining Norwich, family history
The dry details, Margaret Kelley already knew about before deciding to spend the summer of 2008 researching the subject of Norwich's first civilian graduates.

The raw emotions, she stumbled across almost as soon as she started combing the archives at Kreitzberg Library for memories of Norwich's 1972 merger with Vermont College. In the May 4, 1974 edition of the Guidon newspaper, a student writer declared in an editorial: "It is a marriage of the devils."

"I found this on my first day of research," Kelley said. "I thought, 'Oh, boy: This is going to be an interesting summer.'  Continued at www.norwich.edu...
Norwich joins entrepreneurship network
With a $50,000 grant and a big assist from two prominent alumni, the David Crawford School of Engineering and the School of Business and Management are joining forces to establish an engineering-based entrepreneurship program at Norwich. Continued at www.norwich.edu...

SGS graduates receive their class rings at the first SGS ring ceremony
Family, tradition and values were themes encapsulated in the bestowal of Norwich class rings to upcoming graduates of the School of Graduate Studies (SGS). Sixty-five Norwich graduates received their class rings Monday night at SGS's first ring ceremony, which preceded the annual alumni social in Plumley Armory.
