Civilian dorm groundbreaking an historic moment for Norwich
A gathering of faculty, staff, trustees and friends joined President Richard W. Schneider for the groundbreaking of the new civilian dormitory. "There are very few 'great' moments -- possibly only ten or twelve -- in the history of our University," the president said. "This is one of them. April 24, 2008 will forever be a special day in Norwich's history." Continued at www.alumni.norwich.edu...

MCW Rescue Team at the ready
On a grey afternoon in Vermont, sleet pours from the dark sky over Norwich University and its surrounding area. Just off campus, the 911 dispatcher in Northfield receives a call from a frantic mother reporting her 7-year-old daughter is missing on nearby Paine Mountain. VT student "Engineer of the Year" shares her knowledge, enthusiasm with others
Norwich class of 2008 valedictorian Kate McLean was recently named Vermont student engineer of the year. A certified peer tutor in the NU Learning Support Center, she enjoys sharing her knowledge and enthusiasm for learning with others. "Whenever there are students who need help, you'll find Kate in the midst of them," says Associate Professor Stephen Fitzhugh. "And students who work with her get good grades. She is an outstanding tutor." Continued at www.norwich.edu...
