Have your cake and eat it too:
Secure a guaranteed fixed income rate with a charitable gift annuity from Norwich

By establishing a charitable gift annuity you make an irrevocable gift to Norwich in exchange for a current tax deduction for a portion of the gift and a guaranteed fixed income stream for life. In the current investment environment the gift annuity rates are very competitive and lock in a guaranteed return for life. For details and current rates, visit the Online Community at www.alumni.norwich.edu/
The Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008 renewed the provision to allow individuals to make charitable contributions tax-free using retirement assets. This legislation replaced the Pension Protection Act of 2006 and will allow tax-free contributions of up to $100,000 per year for individuals aged 70 ½ and older.
For more information please contact Priscilla Gilbert, Director of Planned Giving at (802) 485-2301 or pgilbert@norwich.edu or visit www.alumni.norwich.edu/
Take advantage of your employer's matching gift program
So you've just dropped a gift to Norwich into the mail and now you're considering which item to tackle next on your to-do list - mowing the yard or washing your car. Before moving on to that chore, take a moment to learn if your employer operates a matching gift program. If it does, you may be able to double your gift to the University. Continued at www.alumni.norwich.edu/

Norwich UniversityImportant changes to the NUCC
The Corps of Cadets has been in existence for 190 years. Periodically it becomes necessary to review its structure and training in order to ensure that Cadets are getting the most out of their Corps experience. I am writing this message to inform you of changes that will be made this fall.

Wrestling Program reinstated for 2009/2010
I am pleased to announce that, as a result of the generosity of the wrestling community, the Norwich wrestling program will be reinstated for the 2009/2010 academic year. A groundswell of support for Norwich wrestling from alumni, parents and friends has yielded in excess of $85,000 in pledges, one-time gifts, and event fundraising money. I want to thank them for rallying behind this cause and enabling a program with a rich history at Norwich to compete for another season.

NU School of Graduate Studies News

Citizen, Soldier, Student
Most students in Norwich University's School of Graduate Studies have to juggle at least two responsibilities - usually a job and school work. John Lawlor juggles three.
Lawlor, who is earning a master's degree in public administration, is director of public works for the city of Waterbury, Conn., and a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army Reserves.
"I have to find a way through scheduling to squeeze more than 24 hours out of a day," he laughed.
