Join with alumni and friends for the 2009 Gettysburg Remembrance Day

In celebration of the 146th anniversary of the Gettysburg Address, all Norwich alumni, friends and students are invited to come out and honor the fallen, learn about the Civil War and Norwich alumni at the battle of Gettysburg. Soldiers National Monument

Saturday, November 21, 2009
Gettysburg National Park (meet at the flag pole near the entrance to the new Visitor Center)

10:00 am
– Short tour (walk about 1.5 miles on paved path) of the battlefield followed by ceremony in the National Soldier’s Cemetery to honor the 61 Vermonters buried there

1:00 pm – Civil War Parade
We’ll gather afterwards for snacks and drinks.
 
This is a no cost, no RSVP event. Just come out, soak up the atmosphere and learn about the Civil War and Norwich history. The event concludes at nightfall with a Luminaria in the cemetery -- a moving tribute to the fallen soldiers. Everyone is invited.

Bring your kids so that they can see history come alive!
