NU Class of 1984

Homecoming 2009 - A GREAT SUCCESS!

Thanks to everyone who was able to join us this October for homecoming weekend back at NU!  We had an amazing time together and a much dryer commencement ceremony!  If anyone has any pictures that they took over the weekend, please email them to classrelations@norwich.edu and the class relations office will post them for everyone to see.  If you would like to view or download any of the pictures from the weekend, please visit www.tinyurl.com/norwich2009homecoming.

Class Favors

First, thank you for your patience to those who have not yet received their class favor.  We are in the process of fixing our error on sizing and they will be mailed to you shortly.  Again, thank you so much for your patience and understanding.  If you have any questions please contact Hilary at davish@norwich.edu or (802) 485-2674 in the class relations office at NU.

Class Gift

For our 25th class reunion our class raised a total of $163,487 and had a class participation rate of 26%.  Thank you to all who contributed to our class gift, we are all part of the reason that NU is as strong as it is today, and it's growing and getting stronger every day!  Thanks again to all who contributed, and were a part of what made our 25th reunion so special.

Class of 1984 Strive For Excellence Scholarship Established

Tony and Keith recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Norwich to create a named endowed class scholarship. The scholarship becomes a permanent part of Norwich's endowment generating scholarship aid in perpetuity once its value reaches $25,000. Our goal is to reach the $25,000 level by the end of Norwich's fiscal year, May 31, 2008.

Our scholarship will be awarded annually to an upperclassman in the Corps of Cadets. Preference of this scholarship is given to students who demonstrate a "Strive for Excellence" attitude marked by involvement or leadership in extracurricular activities or organizations either on or off campus that have a positive impact on the Norwich community. This scholarship may be renewed through the student's senior year if a minimum of a 2.5 grade point average is maintained. The intent of this scholarship is to not only help a future cadet earn a Norwich degree, but to also inspire a higher giving participation rate among our class. Please consider designating all or part of your reunion gift or pledge to the scholarship as you consider other Norwich priorities including the Phase II Athletic Complex (a new building that will "connect" Andrews Hall and Kreitzberg Arena) and designating your gift as Unrestricted.
