Bearing the Torch: New Turf and Lights for Sabine Field
As part of Bearing the Torch, the University’s current three-year fundraiser, Sabine Field will soon have a synthetic turf surface, allowing multiple teams, including soccer and lacrosse, to play in front of home crowds in the bleachers – even on the same day. “The challenge with the field currently is that we basically use it five times a year for football,” says Norwich University Athletic Director Tony Mariano. “The field gets torn up in a game and you really can’t do anything with it for a week or even a week and a half.” |
