Norwich University Alumni Association Special Alumni Awards Program
The Norwich University Alumni Association, with support of the NU Alumni Office, annually presents special alumni awards to alumni and friends of Norwich University who have made significant Contributions to Norwich, their community and profession. The alumni awards are presented annually at fall Homecoming Weekend. The number of award recipients for each category is not fixed and are determined by the number of nominations received and eligibility of each candidate. All nominees are welcome, though nominees from reunion years being honored will be given first consideration. Nominations may be submitted by any alumnus/a or friend of Norwich to NUAA Awards Committee, 158 Harmon Drive, Northfield, VT 05663. The deadline for nominations to be awarded at Homecoming is April 30. For more information contact the Alumni Office or email alumni@norwich.edu.
The Awards
Distinguished Alumnus/A Award - Awarded to those alumni designated as best meeting the criteria for exceptional interest in and service to Norwich University, outstanding accomplishment in their civilian or military career, and for notable public service contributions. This individual has given significantly of his/her time, talents and resources in support of his/her alma mater.
Alumni Director's Award — Awarded to those individuals for outstanding service and support of Norwich University and their Community. Individuals nominated have been an example to others and made significant contributions, given generously of their time, talents, and selfless services in support of their alma mater.
Sustained Service Award — Awarded to those alumni who have demonstrated a constant interest in and support of Norwich University over time while exemplifying the ideals of a Norwich graduate.
New Leader Achievement Award — Awarded to those alumni who have graduated within the past 15 years that best meet the criteria for exceptional interest in and service to Norwich University, outstanding accomplishment in their civilian career, and demonstrating community service.
Honorary Alumnus/a Award — Awarded to a faculty or staff member, parent or friend of the university who has demonstrated a great love for Norwich and reflected the ideals of a Norwich graduate while making a lasting impact on its students, graduates, and the institution. (May not be awarded annually)
