Get Involved
Getting Involved with Norwich University means giving back to the place that helped shape the person you are today.  It may mean coming to back to campus for the first time in decades, or perhaps volunteering time in your local community.  Getting Involved may mean making a gift to Norwich or adopting a local high school to help recruit the next generation of NU students.  Ultimately, though, Getting Involved means re-establishing your connection with Norwich.  It's about reconnecting with your classmates - the people you spent years with and who understand, better than anyone else the memories, stories and experiences you have to share.  It's about that pull you feel back to Northfield - the desire to go to Homecoming so that you can see old friends, peek into your old dorm room and have a meal in the dining facility.  It's about being a part of the Norwich family - a group that you joined the moment you first stepped through the gates in Northfield.  Whenever you are ready, and how ever you would like to, there are multiple ways you can Get Involved with Norwich.

Get Involved - Connecting with your Local NU Club

There are more than 50 Norwich University clubs across America and in other nations. They gather together throughout the year for socials, sporting events, golf outings, ski events, community service activities, day trips to the Hill, barbecues, pool parties and cocktail receptions. When you come to an NU Club event you are guaranteed to meet old friends and make new ones.  Reconnect with Norwich - join us for an NU Club event in your local area!

Get Involved - Living Norwich Values through Community Service

For almost two centuries Norwich alumni have given back - to their school, to their community and to their nation.  Service to others is a fundamental cornerstone of the Norwich mission and something that is lived every day by our students and alumni.  Check out some of the community service activities that our alumni have been involved in, and that you can be a part of too:

Get Involved - Connecting with your Class

From the moment you set foot on the campus of Norwich University, you became part of the Norwich community. While your relationships were many — professors, coaches, NCOs, even the kitchen staff you saw daily in the mess hall — you formed your tightest bond with your classmates. The challenges and rewards you shared with your classmates made for lifetime friendships.

Here is some information that can help you reconnect with the friends you made while at Norwich - it is never to late to rekindle old friendships!

Get Involved - Recruiting the Next Generation of NU Students

Can you remember being a high school junior or senior applying for college?  Did you wonder if you were making the right decision, angst over the admissions process and wish there was someone to talk to who could give you some real answers?  Did your high school guidance office have a good stock of college information (and was Norwich included in that information)?  As an alumni or friend of Norwich you bring a wealth of knowledge and real world experience that would be a huge benefit to high school students preparing to make the biggest decision of their life.  Tell them about Norwich, encourage them to apply, share your experiences and answer their questions.  Represent Norwich at local college fairs or adopt your area high school and ensure that they have the latest NU information available to their students.

Paving the way for the next generation of Norwich students is one of the most important gifts that any alumni or friend of Norwich can give back to the university.  For more information about how you can assist in the recruitment and admissions process click here.

Get Involved - Careers

As NU alumni, you know how great our students and alumni are as employees.  They are intelligent, self-motivated, respectful and honest. This is your opportunity to assist others along their career path, provide your insight to newcomers to your industry and help your employer “Hire Norwich First!”

Click here and scroll down to the “Career Center” section.  Here, you will be able to join NU Career P.L.A.N. (Professional Learning and Advisory Network). This is where you will be able to post full-time, part-time and internship openings, review resumes and volunteer to be a mentor to today’s students! As a mentor, you may be contacted by a student or alum of NU. You may be asked about your industry, your specific employer, general job search advice, and so on. This is a great way to share your professional expertise while simultaneously assisting another member of the Norwich family.

Click here to explore our “Employer Resources” where you will be able to find information about representing your employer at upcoming Job Fairs. Job Fair registration is available online, too!

If you have any questions or would like more information about helping students with their careers, please feel free to e-mail the NU Career development Center at careers@norwich.edu.  And remember, “Hire Norwich First!”
