2LT Stephanie M. Hurley

Second Lieutenant (2LT), Stephanie M. Hurley, 23, of 5 Prospect St., Brookfield, died July 29, 2008 in North Carolina after a sudden illness. She was born in Worcester the daughter of James M. Hurley Jr. & Christine M. (Laporte) Hurley of Brookfield. She is also survived by two sisters; Jennifer Hurley and Kimberly Hurley; a brother James M. Hurley III, a niece Rylie Hurley all of Brookfield; her maternal grandparents Robert Laporte of Brookfield, Corinne Allen and her husband Robert of East Brookfield; her paternal grandparents James Hurley Sr. & Irene Glasier of Brookfield and Joan Hyland & her husband John of Paxton; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Stephanie was a 2003 graduate of Tantasqua Regional High School and graduated summa cum laude from Norwich in 2007. She was a distinguished military graduate and Captain of the woman's Rugby team, while captain of the rugby team they placed first in the Northeast and third in the country at the National Elite 8 Rugby finals in Florida. She was currently a US Army 2nd Lieutenant with the Texas Army National Guard. She loved spending time with family, friends, her dog Mia, horses, skydiving, snowmobiling, rugby, the Red Sox, Patriots and traveling. She will be fondly remembered for the happiness she provided to her family and friends.

Justin W. Owen

Justin W. Owen of Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin entered into eternal rest on December 25, 2010, at the age of 24. Justin was the beloved son of Thomas and Rebecca Owen of Whitefish Bay, and brother to Nicholas and Thomas John. Justin was a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps Reserve of Fox Company in Milwaukee and served one tour of combat duty in Iraq during the 2007-2008 campaign.

Justin graduated from Shorewood (WI) High School in 2004. He attended Norwich University from Fall 2004 to Spring 2007 prior to enrolling into Marquette's School of Journalism, where he graduated in 2010, cum laude, in journalism. He was currently enrolled in the master's degree program at the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL.

The funeral service was held on Thursday, December 30. A full Military Honors ceremony followed at the Milwaukee County War Memorial Center.
