The 2012-2013 Team Needs Your Help!

On behalf of the Norwich University Regimental Drill Team and in honor of our 75th Anniversary, we would like to thank you for your past support. Your contributions continue to help us reach our goal of achieving the standard of excellence, as well as building strong leaders for America’s future.

Through the past decades, our team has represented Norwich by providing color guards at numerous events, firing parties at ceremonies and memorial services for our fallen, exhibition routines at events such as the Special Olympics, and by winning 1st place at the Cornell University Invitational Drill Competition for 10 consecutive years. We have improved dramatically over the years and promise to continue doing so. Our future is bright. However, even with the University’s support and the team’s accomplishments, we are still working to reach our full potential. Rising costs of transportation and our desperate need for replacement parts to repair our equipment has left the team struggling to come up with the necessary funds to attend the upcoming national competition and future events.

Our Drill Team has recently learned we need to raise $11,000.00 in order to compete at the National Drill Competition at Tulane University in New Orleans next February. It is something we’ve attended numerous times before, but for the first time, we are seeking alumni support to bridge the gap between the University’s support and our expenses. We are writing to ask for your financial support to meet this challenge. With your help, we will be able to nationally represent Norwich University and honor 75 years of proud Drill Team traditions. It’s fast and easy to make a tax-deductible contribution today. You can donate online at http://bit.ly/NUDrillTeam. Also note that any gifts to this fund will count toward your class giving total.

On behalf of the Norwich University Regimental Drill Team, we would like to thank you for paving the way for today’s team. Your contribution will help us achieve the standard of excellence, and continue to bring pride to your alma mater. Thank you in advance for supporting our efforts.

Sincerely,

Robert Morris

2012 Mardi Gras Drill Competition

The NU Regimental Drill Team was back in New Orleans this February for the annual Mardi Gras Drill Competition at Tulane University.  Bill Kingman ’80 painted the city maroon and gold, arranging for special meals, events and cheering sections for the team. One of the highlights of the visit was their repeat-appearance on the local morning news show where the team showcased their moves. While the team placed third overall, they are eager to head back to The Big Easy and return the championship to Norwich.
