In the NewsNorwich University gets in 'Charlie's Corner'
Besides being Norwich's sports information director, Charlie Crosby '63 is one of 10,000-plus people across the U.S. in need of a bone marrow transplant. He recently found out that there is no match on the donor registry. “It’s a life-threatening situation that I’m in. I need a transplant to extend my life,” said Crosby. He knows it may be too late for him, but by raising public awareness about getting tested, Crosby hopes to save a life of another person.Continued at www.burlingtonfreepress.com/...

The NU Alumni Association Enrollment Committee has some exciting news to share!
Thanks in part to the help from our alumni:
• Norwich is now at full enrollment
• The Class of 2014 was the largest ever freshmen class
• Alumni covered 76% more college fairs than in 2009
At our winter meeting last week President Schneider asked us to keep this momentum going by:
• Identifying more college fairs at nearby high schools or regional fairs
• Representing NU at an upcoming college fair
• Getting the Norwich name in front of your local high school guidance department
• Contacting accepted high school students and helping them finalize their decision to commit to NU
Your help in any of the above areas will have a positive impact on enrollment. Contact Eddie Habeck in Admissions at 802.485.2069 or at email@example.com

Support Norwich - Bearing the TorchIRA charitable rollover extended!
Good News! On December 17, the IRA Charitable Rollover gifting provision was restored for 2010 and 2011. If you own an IRA and are over age 70½, you can again transfer up to $100,000 directly from your IRA to Norwich University. Even if you have already taken this year’s minimum distribution, an IRA Charitable Rollover is still a tax-wise way to make a 2010 gift. To learn more about this opportunity, contact David Ely, assistant vice president for development at 802-485-2301 or firstname.lastname@example.org
