Great Decisions Online 2008 | | | | The Vermont Council on World Affairs and Norwich University presents Great Decisions Online 2008
Ten Weeks, Eight Great Topics March 16-May 18
The Vermont Council on World Affairs and Norwich University are proud to introduce the opportunity to discuss foreign affairs with fellow Vermonters AND individuals all over the world!
Great Decisions is a program developed by the Foreign Policy Association and is the oldest and largest grass-roots world affairs educational program of its kind in the country. The program was designed to engage citizens in debate and discussion over the major issues in foreign policy. Great Decisions increases understanding of these issues and gives the people a say in policy choices.
Each group will have a discussion facilitator and after an introductory week where you will get to know your fellow participants, each week will focus on a different topic. At the end of it all you will have the opportunity to fill out an Opinion Ballot on each topic that is presented to the White House, the State Department, Congress, and the national media.
Topics for 2008 include: - European Union at 50
- Iraq: The End Game
- Diplomacy: Talking to our Enemies
- Russia
- U.S. Defense and Security Policy
- Latin America
- U.S.-China Trade
- Private Philanthropy
